Go Fish, Summer 2011
Kathi has been asked to participate in the Cultural Center of Cape Cod's Fish for the Arts project. Twenty-five Cape artists will each transform a 34-inch fiberglass striped bass into their own work of art. Twenty-five sponsors will display these creations at restaurants, banks, businesses, and other popular sites across Cape Cod throughout the summer. All work will be auctioned at summer's end. Proceeds will go toward the new educational wing of the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.

Saturday, May 8th, 2010: Access Art Fundraiser in Sandwich
"An Evening of Fine Art, Wine & Music at Camp Burgess & Hayward"
Kathi was invited to participate in this yearly fundraiser for the YMCA Summer Camp Programs in Sandwich. The event took place Saturday, May 8th. Several local artists (Cristina Reverdy, Jackie Reeves, Kim Medeiros Susan Fehlinger, Asa Gallagher, Chris Dumas, Kathi Taylor, Wayne Shepard, Karen Ojala, Richard Neal, Laura Finnerty) joined in this fundraiser - with 40% of the proceeds going towards helping children get "Access" to camp (100% of all money raised went directly to children in need).
On the Move
Kathi recently moved from Boston to Cape Cod. One of the first people she met was Cristina Reverdy, artist-owner of Studio-Brush, a gallery and artist studio on the 6A in Sandwich, MA. Cris welcomed Kathi and her artwork into the gallery, and you can find her there several days a week working on her art and helping Cris run the gallery. Studio-Brush is located in Merchant's Square next to Cafe Chew and behind the Post Office on the 6A.
Backdrops for Hogan's Goat "Come into the Parlor" TV Show
Kathi's Irish trio, Hogan's Goat, recorded a live one hour show for Sandwich Community Television that aired on St. Patrick's Day. Kathi created the colorful backdrops for the show. If you're a Facebook user, search for "Hogan's Goat - Irish Band" and become a fan (click here). There are links to the full one hour show from the Facebook page.
Home Is Where The Art Is
Kathi participated in the Children's Hospital Boston "Home is Where the Art Is" project. Several local artists were selected to create over 100 works of art with a "Home" theme. The artwork was hung in the hospital's new Kent Street Family Home, a large Boston house built in 1889 that has been beautifully renovated and can now accommodate several out-of-town families who have children in the hospital. Before the house was completed, the art traveled to different venues in the Boston area including the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Logan Airport, and the Brookline Public Library.
